Butcher Block Supply

Real hardwood slabs, hand-picked at the warehouse — sizes you won't find at a box store.

Species

  • Acacia — the house wood, usually in stock. Warm, varied grain; the espresso-stained acacia look is the shop’s signature.
  • Birch — the premium option and the most durable of the stocked woods; a favorite for hard-working kitchens.
  • Hevea (rubberwood) — light in color with the most uniform grain of the three.
  • Maple, walnut and oak — special order. Tim will tell you straight which one actually fits your project and budget.

Everything is real hardwood butcher block — not veneer — and every slab is hand-picked at the warehouse, skipping pieces with splits near the edges.

Sizes and thickness

Slabs run 8, 10 and 12 feet long. The standard countertop depth is 25.5″ (sized so the top overhangs the drawers and doors on a 25″ cabinet), with 30″-deep slabs also available — handy when a wall needs scribing or an island wants more landing space. Island slabs come 4′ × 8′, and custom sizes can be made up to 75″ × 144″.

Thickness options are 1″, 1.5″ and 2″, plus ¾″ stock for matching 4″ backsplashes. Remnants and offcuts are usually around for shelves, small counters and cutting boards — ask.

Sealed or raw

You can buy material raw and finish it yourself, or have it cut to size and sealed before it leaves the shop. One honest warning with raw wood: seal it promptly on all faces — an unsealed slab left in a humid kitchen can move on you. If you’d rather not deal with any of that, the installation service handles cutting, sealing and mounting end to end.

Pickup and delivery

Material can be picked up near Simpsonville or delivered — the delivery fee depends on distance and is confirmed in your quote. In-stock acacia can often go out same or next day. Multi-slab and wholesale pricing is available for contractors and flippers buying four or more. See the service areas page for where deliveries regularly run.
