Islands
Island slabs start at 4′ × 8′ and 30″-deep stock, and go fully custom from there — up to 75″ × 144″ as one piece. When a client wanted a 4′ × 10′ island nobody else stocked, the shop built exactly that (see Custom Grand Island in the journal, along with the matching shelves, laundry and pantry tops that followed).
The signature look is espresso-stained acacia with a matte or satin extra-durable finish, but every species and finish on the supply page applies here too.
Waterfall edges
A waterfall carries the wood over the edge and straight down to the floor. It’s a different installation process that takes noticeably more material — but done right it needs no extra support, and it turns an island into furniture. Recent examples in the journal: a double waterfall in Asheville built from the ground up, and a laundry-room waterfall with a plumbing access cutout. And if a waterfall isn’t actually right for your layout, Tim will say so before you pay for one.
Bar tops and beyond
The same solid stock becomes bar tops, peninsulas, work benches, desk tops, table tops, floating shelves, mantels, vanities, and laundry, pantry or garage counters. If it’s a flat surface that should be real wood, it’s probably been made here — the gallery has the photos.
